Universal health care is an issue that should unite us all. there are many ideas being floated at this time.
“Medicare for all” is a a rallying cry, but unlikely the US would ever adopt, and is fraught with peril as medicare pays only a fraction of costs, thus supplemental insurance would be needed.
This is a better idea: have a public option, such as what the best performing systems have in common (eg Switzerland or Australia). The following is one proposal advanced to do that, though the name is misleading:
