Insulin unaffordability deemed a human rights abuse

Human rights Watch has declared that the sky high cost of insulin is a human rights abuse. I agree. The cost to manufacture a vial of insulin which has been available for 99 years now is estimated to be about $3.00, it is an outrage that its retail price in the USA is over $300. Many patients therefore stretch their supply due to cost and lead to serious health issues.

This must change, and we must demand of congress that outright price gouging must stop. No where else is Insulin sold at such high pricing. Allowing Medicare to negotiate prices by changing a 2003 law that prohibits negotiations would dramatically lead to lower pricing. see this article detailing this development
